Wire dog crates are constructed of heavy gauge steel and are great for traveling in your car as they conveniently fold flat for easy storage and portability.

Soft sided crates are great for the home, they are very pleasing to the eye and will blend in with the furniture very nicely but are not proper for travel and they cannot hold the weight of the dog during travel.

A fairly new trend has been the wooden or furniture dog crate which can create a unique dog house for your dog in the house.  These new furniture crates look like a finely crafted piece of furniture while providing a great stylish quiet retreat for your dog.
